RAR Hubs

Extreme performance comes along with perfect effort transmission and very low bearing friction. Our hubs are designed to provide highest performance and reliability. They have the letters R, A, R, laser engraved and visible when the wheels spin.
Their weight is very low. They offer different qualities too.



Front hub

The front offers several important characteristics.
First, its geometry is specially designed to make the wheels laterally as stiff as possible. Its flanges are positioned as far outward as possible to increase the bracing angle of the wheel, and therefore its stiffness. Its high quality steel bearings are placed as close as possible to the fork dropouts, to make, here again, the wheel as stable and laterally as stiff as possible. These two parameters are extremely important and are often forgotten on most super light hubs.

Secondly, our hub has a genius preload bearing system that results in very low friction very low, which translates into energy savings, into watts saved.
Last but not least, despite its very low weight - 65g - its bearings are oversized. Indeed the 6900 bearings offer 1.5 to 2.5 higher static resistance than the bearings used in ligher hubs, but also in hubs weighting 50g more! This hub is made in the United-States by Alchemy, specialized in the wheel.

Rear hub

Like the front, our rear hub is built upon strong and large bearings to make the wheel as stiff, as stable and as durable as possible. A 6902 bearing takes place on the non drive side, a 6802 is placed inside the rotor, close to the right side dropout. In the center, a double bearing makes the pivot linkage between the hub shell and the rotor. This patented hybrid double bearing is coming from coupled 6802 and 6902 bearings with an important modification: the inner race is shared, still for stiffness/stability.
 
At 64mm the drive side flange is one of the largest ever. It makes the lever arm very big, therefore the rider output torque is transfered as well as possible (more information in "spoking" menu).
The RAR rear hub is specially designed for 2:1 spoking: the distances between the flanges to the frame dropouts makes even spoke tensions on the two sides of the wheel.  Finally, the rear hub is very light: 182g and it has proven its reliability for more than 8 years.
