The DT Swiss Aerolite spokes are the hearth of our wheels. Made out of stainless steel, they are bladed and very thin, their weight, aerodynamic properties, and endurance are far higher than any other spoke of the market. Their geometry and shape enhances aero and endurance. After years of use, and hundreds thousands kilometers, we have not had a single failure. This spoke is only 4.9g in its longest version.
Depending on the rim depth, which also determines its stiffness, the front wheels will have either 16, either 20 radial spokes to balance the stiffness and improve aerodynamic properties, here again.
For the rear wheels, we use 24 spokes, 3 times crossed on the drive side, and radials on the non drive-side, according to our 2:1 spoking, which translates into very responsive and laterally stiff wheels. DT Competition spokes, thicker (2.0/1.8) and stiffer, are used for non drive side for balancing lateral stiffness and stability of our shallowest rims.
Anyway, in case of crash, these spokes will be replaceable one at a time. They are made in switzerland.

Nipples
The rims and hubs are hold together by spokes, through nipples. This linkage is essential for the durability and the integrity of our creations. So we selected the best alloy nipples, offering extreme tension resistance, and the highest durability. They are the best available at the moment.
Two different models are used depending on the type of rim. Hex and polyaxis, they are hidden into our carbon rims. Those used for the Tempo are external to the rim and thus visible.
