It excels in versatility. Optimal is in shape for any category. The mountain fits it like a glove. It rides quickly on the flat and valley regions. It also loves time-trial.
The 46mm deep rim and the 16 aero thin and bladed spokes make its aero properties extremely good. Optimal is almost sub one kilogram which allows rides with very high height difference.
