AURA’s construction builds on a lightweight evolution of RAR ESO V2 hubs, named UL+, equipped with premium French CyclingCeramic bearings as standard.

The new composite structure optimizes the benefits of high-modulus fibers, elevating the dual-core rim concept to unprecedented levels of competitiveness.

The aerodynamic interface between tire, rim, and spokes maintains efficiency through its elliptical profile.

True to our enduring mission, RAR remains at the forefront of technology and performance. AURA is available in tubular and tubeless-tire versions, in three preferred heights:

ESO V2 UL

Beyond its revolutionary spokes, AURA relies on an evolution of our RAR ESO V2 hubs.

The UL version, specifically designed for the new spokes, enhances tensile strength.
Machined from the finest 7075T6 aluminum alloy, finite element analysis validated additional, asymmetrical machining to lighten the assembly.

Our proven 36-tooth steel ratchet mechanism is retained. Interchangeability between Shimano HG11/12, Campagnolo, Campagnolo 13, Sram XDR, and Shimano Microspline 12 ensures compatibility with any groupset or bike change.

Spokes AURA Carbon-Ti 

A key specification was to maintain full reparability.
We chose a structure with interchangeable spokes, enabling rapid maintenance and customization.

A technological breakthrough was achieved by building the wheel around hybrid high-modulus carbon and titanium spokes.
This cutting-edge solution drastically reduces weight while improving dynamic and aerodynamic qualities.

A 300% increase in the strength-to-weight ratio is striking: while top stainless steel spokes weigh 4.6g each, AURA spokes offer greater tensile and flexural strength at just 2g.
The connection between flared titanium elements and carbon fibers is maximized in surface area and length for a permanent bond. Their ultra-thin 2.4/1.5mm aerodynamic section mirrors the finest stainless steel spokes used in our range.

M46J & dual core

AURA stands apart—unique in its production methods, distinctive in its materials.

The rim’s production hinges on a critical, unique step ensuring the reproducibility of an ultra-light, reliable rim. A carbon core is pre-produced in a specific mold, then layered against pre-impregnated fabrics draped on the steel mold forming the rim profile. This avant-garde technique, proven on our EXALT wheel, drastically reduces weight with zero risk.

The new layup plan prioritizes high-modulus M46J carbon fibers, surpassing the performance of traditional T700 or T800 fibers. These structure the rim’s walls and flat zones, enhancing overall performance by reducing deflections and optimizing force transfer, setting a new benchmark against intermediate-modulus fibers.

Post-production, AURA receives a micro-engraving, affirming its superior class.

We’ve retained the critical features that make RAR wheels safe and durable. With their extremely low weight, rotational imbalances can arise easily; we maintain an internal counterweight opposite the valve to ensure balance.
